A device for electromotor drives, especially for drives powered by fuel cells has a consumer of the electrical power arising in the start-up phase of a fuel cell and/or during generator operation of the electric drive motor. The consumer (1,2) consists of at least one electric water-cooled heating resistor (3) which is arranged heat-transmissively on a flow-tube (4) and connected electrically via an electronic control unit (5) with the power source supplying the electrical power.
