PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF DOPA AND DOPAMINE FROM HAIRY ROOT CULTURES OF BETA VULGARIS

The present invention relates to a process for preparing Dopa and Dopamine from hairy root culture of B. vulgaris, said process comprising steps of: culturing of hairy roots of B. vulgaris using nutrient media, inoculating hairy roots in the range of 0.1-0.5 g fresh wt./40 ml culture medium, grown for 2- 24 days to obtain higher growth and metabolites; choosing the right stage of culture of hairy roots for maximum Dopa and Dopamine production based on the biosynthetic pathway of betalaines; and extracting the hairy roots with solvent to obtain Dopa and Dopamine.
