Thermoplastic elastomer compositions and process for preparing them

A thermoplastic elastomer composition is provided thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, an at least partially borane-vulcanized elastomer, and, optionally, an extender oil. Preferably, the composition is fully cured and further comprises at least one of a metal halide and a metal oxide. Most preferred is a PP/EPDM thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) comprising both SnCl2 and ZnO. Also provided is a process for preparing such thermoplastic elastomer compositions.
