<p>The present invention refers to ski, snowboard or similar skating device's edge and is based upon the problem of how to improve the grab on preferentially harder or icy surface and thus to reduce skidding in a turn. According to the invention, the ski is fitted with the left edge (12) and the right edge (13). In both edges the constituent faces of the ski edge make a sharp angle with each other preferentially. A base face of the ski edge (2) makes a sharp base angle (beta) with a base sliding surface (5) of the ski. The base angle (beta) of the ski edge is greater than 0 degrees and the side angle (alpha) of the ski edge may also be a negative sharp angle. The intersection of constituent faces of the ski edge produces preferentially a sharp edge (14). The ski is fitted with a hollow-ground cross-section (3) along its longitudinal direction. The ski edge can be fitted with the hollow-ground cross-section along the whole length or only along an optional number of optionally arranged partial hollow-ground zones, the sum of their lengths being smaller than the whole length of the ski edge. By choosing a combination of constituent faces' angle of the ski edge, its hollow-ground cross-section and hollow-ground zone along the ski edge, a specific characteristic of the ski edge is obtained for a ski, a snowboard or a similar skating device. By varying the combination of parameters for the left and the right ski edge, a different characteristic can be obtained for a ski, a snowboard or a similar skating device in the left or the right turn respectively.</p> |
