In order to detect rotational speed and rotational direction of an axle, achieve compact formation of the rotation detector, and be excellent in dust resistance performance, the present invention provides a rolling bearing apparatus (1) comprises balls (4,5) interposed between respective raceway surfaces of inner (3) and outer (2) ring members and a seal apparatus (7,8) is mounted between shoulder portions of the inner and outer ring members (2,3).
