PURPOSE: An electrolytic coating thickness measurement apparatus and a method for measuring a coating thickness are provided to easily perform a signal layer or a multi layer coating process. CONSTITUTION: An electrolytic coating thickness measurement apparatus includes an electrolytic cell(1), a constant current unit(2), a potential detection unit(4), an input unit(4), an output unit(5), a system control unit(6), an LCD section(7), a PC communication section(8), and a stirring motor managing unit(9). The electrolytic cell(1) has an electrolytic area of 2.5mm. The constant current unit(2) applies current to the electrolytic cell(1) according to information transmitted from the system control unit(6). The potential detection unit(4) detects potential from the electrolytic cell(1) and sends the potential to the system control unit(6).
