A toner cartridge (5) holds toner therein and is attached into an image forming apparatus. The toner cartridge (5) has a mounting construction with a rotary member (11) that is rotated about a longitudinal axis to a position where the toner is discharged into the image forming. The mounting construction includes a first inclined surface (17a) and an engagement portion. The first inclined surface (17a) is formed on the rotary member (11) , the surface extending in a first plane at a first angle with the axis. When the toner cartridge (5) is placed in the image forming apparatus, the engagement portion formed on the image forming apparatus inserts through the opening (15) engaging the first inclined surface (17a). When the rotary member (11) is rotated in a first direction, the engagement portion slides on the first inclined surface (17a) so that the toner cartridge (5) is displaced in a second direction parallel to the axis. <IMAGE> |
