PURPOSE: A parallel air blast apparatus is provided which enables small blast furnace to be operated in the steady state using existing facility without facility expansion during breakdown of blowing facility for the small blast furnace by partially dividing air blast for large blast furnace to supply some air blast to the small blast furnace. CONSTITUTION: The parallel air blast apparatus comprises a main line for electrically blowing a large amount of air blast connected to outlet side of plurality of electric powered blowers and tuyere of small blast furnace; first control valve(57) installed on the main line in such a way that the first control valve is turned on and off to block air blast; small capacity bypass lines formed in a row in front and rear of the first control valve to form a transfer line of air blast blown by electric power; first flow rate detector(112) for measuring blowing amount impressed to small blast furnace; second flow rate detector(114) for measuring flow rate of transfer air flowing through the bypass line; a manual cutout valve(115) installed on the bypass line so that the manual cutout valve is turned on and off to block air blast; second control valve(116) installed on the bypass line to control blowing amount of transfer air; and a transfer air flow rate controller(141) for controlling the second control valve so that a preset amount of air flows through the bypass line by receiving actual flow rate of transfer air of the bypass line.
