FIELD: oxidation catalysts. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention provides catalyst and method for catalytic ammoxidation of propane and isobutane into corresponding alpha,beta-unsaturated mononitriles, i.e. acrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile using disclosed catalyst. Catalyst has following empiric formula VSbaSnbTicFedOx wherein 1 <= a <= 1.8; 0 <= b <= 0.35; 0 <= c <= 0.15; 0 < d <= 0.8; 0 < b+c <= 0; 1 <= a-d < 1.8; AND, WHEN A-D > 1.2, then 0 < d < 0.5 and 0.3 <= b+c <= 0.5; and, when a-d <= 1.2, then 0.2 < d <= 0.8 and 0 < b+c < 0.3; x being found from oxidation state of cations present in catalyst.
