FIELD: petrochemical processes. ^ SUBSTANCE: aromatic feedstock is alkylated at elevated temperature with alpha-olefins (C10-C18 or C10-C18-fraction) in presence of liquid vat complex containing toluene, aluminum chloride, and hydrogen chloride. Aromatic feedstock is still residue from process of isolation of monolkylbenzenes from products of alkylation of benzene with linear C10-C14-olefins in presence of hydrogen fluoride as alkylation agent.
