FIELD: varnish-and-paint industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing modified drying oils suited to be used in manufacture of varnishes, enamels, paint primers, and other compositions employed as protective, decorative, and insulation coatings. Natural-origin or synthetic drying oil is modified by introducing it into reaction mixture of a special-type modifier in final drying oil preparation stage (cooling stage), said modifier being composed of 15-70% monoethanolamine, no more than 50% of mixture of 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)imidazolid-2-one and 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine (oxazolidone conversion product), and up to 5% water, drying oil-to-modifier weight ratio 100:(0.5-10). ^ EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of drying oil. ^ 1 tbl, 5 ex |
