PURPOSE: A cathode structure is provided to increase the volume of electron emission by widening an edge area, and achieve improved uniformity of luminance of image. CONSTITUTION: A field emission display comprises a cathode electrode(112) formed by depositing an electron emitting material on a substrate(111); a gate electrode(122) for controlling the volume of electron emission; and an anode unit(130) where the electron emits light. The cathode electrode includes an input end where a power is inputted; and a deposition line extended from the input end, and which has a top deposited with an electron emitting material. The deposition line includes two or more branches so as to increase effects of electric field reinforcement. A rib(121) is formed between the gate electrode and an emitter(113) so as to maintain the gap formed between the gate electrode and the emitter.
