摘要 |
PURPOSE: A transmitter using a multi-wavelength light source in a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) network is provided to reduce largely the total cost and simplify a design process by forming an optical cross connector without a wavelength converter. CONSTITUTION: A multi-wavelength light source(36) provides multi-wavelength optical signals without data. A first optical circulator(35) transfers the multi-wavelength optical signals without data to a multiplexer/demultiplexer(34) and transmits multiplexed signals of the multiplexer/demultiplexer. The multiplexer/demultiplexer demultiplexes the multi-wavelength optical signals without data and multiplexes the optical signals having the data. An optical space switch(33) transfers the demultiplexed signals to a plurality of channels(37-1 to 37-n) and transfers the optical signals of the channels to the multiplexer/demultiplexer. The channels modulate the optical signals and transfer the modulated signals to the optical space switch.
