PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device having a delayed auto precharge function is provided to perform a page mode as using a command having an auto precharge function. CONSTITUTION: A memory cell array(230) is arranged in rows and columns. A row decoder decodes a column address inputted from the external. A command decoder(250) decodes a command received from the external, and enables an auto precharge control signal, when the decoded command has an auto precharge function. And a precharge control circuit(260) comprises a timer which is reset in response to the auto precharge control signal, and controls to precharge the memory cell array when a value of the timer reaches a set time.
