METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING SOURCE PDSN IP ADDRESS IN THE CASE OF DORMANT HANDOFF IN PACKET DATA SERVICE NETWORK

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a source PDSN IP address in the case of dormant handoff in a packet data service network is provided to remove waste of additional radio resources for PPP negotiation in dormant handoff by transmitting a source PDSN IP address used by a source PCF to a target PCF. CONSTITUTION: In case that dormant handoff of a mobile terminal, a target PCF(Packet Control Function)(33) requests a PDSN IP(Source Packet Data Serving Node Internet Protocol) address to a corresponding source PCF(31) by using a source PCF IP address. The source PCF(31) extracts a source PDSN IP address which is preliminarily stored so that the source PCF(31) transmits the extracted source PDSN IP address to the target PCF(33). The target PCF(33) processes dormant handoff through R-P link connection between the target PCF(33) and a source PDSN(32) in the state of maintaining PPP(Point-to-Point) link connection with the source PDSN(32).
