PURPOSE: A method for controlling output power of a mobile terminal in a mobile communication system is provided to control output power of a mobile terminal in an optimum state by allocating a weight to a power amplifier and a mixer to control an amplification rate. CONSTITUTION: A base station determines whether a radio signal of a mobile terminal is received(S100). If the radio signal of the mobile terminal is received, the base station determines whether the mobile terminal is positioned near the base station(S110). If the mobile station is positioned far from the base station, the base station determines whether a level of a signal received from the remotely positioned mobile terminal is higher than a reference level(S120). If the level of the received signal is lower than the reference level, an amplification rate of a power amplifier is controlled to be increased(S130). If the level of the received signal is higher than the reference level, the amplification rate of the power amplifier is controlled to be reduced(S140).
