PURPOSE: A length control gas spring is provided to minimize a friction heat as occurred by minimizing the area which a rod guide and a piston rod portion are touched; to minimize a crack occurred on the surface of the piston rod portion; and to minimize an amount of shock occurred when an outside cylinder is up to the maximum and suddenly stopped and when the outside cylinder is down to the maximum and suddenly stopped, thereby maximizing the shock absorption effect of a dustproof rubber, improving the quality and reducing the costs. CONSTITUTION: The length control gas spring comprises an outside tub(110) of a cylinder; a spindle support(111); a slide member(112); an outside cylinder(20); a valve assembly(32); an inside cylinder(30); a piston body(40) with a piston portion(41) and a piston rod portion(44); an elastic body(50) for absorbing shock as occurred when the outside cylinder(20) is ascended to the maximum and suddenly stopped; a piston stopper(60) for stopping ascent of the outside cylinder(20) by touching with the elastic body; a rod seal(70) for preventing a high pressure gas from being leaked and for moving up and down the piston rod portion(44); a rod guide(80) for supporting the piston rod portion to be touched at the minimum area; a dustproof rubber(90) for absorbing shock as occurred when the outside cylinder(20) is descended and suddenly stopped; a rod supporting member(100) with at least two or more projections; a spindle support(111); and a clip(120) for fixing the piston rod portion(44) to the spindle support(111).
