PURPOSE: A reciprocating compressor for freezing equipment is provided to improve the performance of lubrication and extend the expected life span of a reciprocating compressor by using ester base oil chemically attracted to an HFC R143a refrigerant compressed by the reciprocating compressor. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic container(6) is connected with a suction tube(2) for sucking a refrigerant in, and a discharge tube(4) for discharging the compressed refrigerant. A driving unit(8) is installed in the hermetic container for generating reciprocating motion power. A compressing unit(10) receives the reciprocating motion power for compressing the refrigerant. A lubricating unit(12) supplies lubricating oil to each moving part of the driving unit and the compressing unit. The refrigerant has the high energy and an ozone depletion potential of 0.0. The refrigerant is an HFC(HydroFluoroCarbon) refrigerant without chlorine. The lubricating oil is ester base lubricating oil which is a kind of synthetic oil having the specific gravity of 0.91-0.99.
