PURPOSE: A method for offering a PDF(Portable Document Format) document using the XML(eXtensible Markup Language) is provided to write the document regardless of a format by making a web server offer a PDF document file of the format set from a client if the client makes a document format and inputs contents to the format. CONSTITUTION: A web server transfers an applet for generating an XSL(eXtensible Style Language) file and an XML structure to the client. The XSL file and the XML structure are generated by operating the applet on a web browser, and are stored in a database and a file system by transmitting it to the web server(S530). The web server transmits the applet for generating the XML file to the client, and the client generates the XML file. The XML file is transferred/stored in the database and the file system(S540). If the client requests the generation of the PDF file, the web server transfers the XSL file, the XML file, and the applet for generating the PDF file to the client. The client generates the PDF document file by performing the PDF conversion by combining the XSL file and the XML file, and the PDF document file is displayed on a web browser(S560).
