PURPOSE: A microwave oven having a heater is provided to sufficiently heat the lower face of a food by embedding a beater. CONSTITUTION: A microwave oven includes a heating chamber(12), a tray rotating in the heating chamber, and a heater(14) rotatably supported on both sidewalls in the heating chamber. A recessed portion(16) is formed on the bottom face of the heating chamber. The heater is installed to rotate horizontally or vertically. The core of the heater is empty. If the heater is stood adjacent to a rear wall(17) of the heating chamber, the function of a convection heater is obtained. It the heater is kept in the horizontal state, the food placed on the tray is heated directly.
