Resilient, flexible tubing (1) resisting sea swell, weighted (2) at the base, and of adequate length, largely covers the wreck (6). It is held under tension by the anchoring weight (2) at the base, and by a float (3) at the surface. The tubing has an outlet opening (4) The tubing (1) envelope is permeable to water, and impermeable to the product to be recovered (7). It is made of fishing net with a suitable mesh. The tubing includes, at least over some of its length, a flexible, impermeable envelope. Lightweight hoops or rings, located at calculated intervals, keep the useful height of the tubing open. The float (3) has a system controlling pollutant viscosity, to facilitate pumping. The tubing is installed from the surface, divers not necessarily being required. A system of dead weights pulls the tubing down, with the assistance of floats and ropes guided from anchorage points. The ropes subsequently form guides locating the lower, weighted end of the tubing at the end of its descent.
