[Also in Division C5] In a method of making a dehydrogenation catalyst of iron oxide (Fe 2 O 3 ) containing a matrix promoter of ZuO and/or CuO and an alkali metal promoter, the iron oxide and the matrix promoter are milled with an excess of aqueous ammonia until the resulting composition has a magnetic susceptibility of 30 x 10<SP>-5</SP> to 300 x 10<SP>-6</SP> c.g.s.u. Example 1 describes the preparation of a catalyst containing Fe 2 O 3 , ZuO, K 2 CO 3 , Cr 2 O 3 and Portland cement. Shape and size of catalyst particles is disclosed. |
