PURPOSE: Provided are an aromatic liquid crystal polyester having a small dielectric loss in a wide frequency range, a film containing the polyester, its preparation method, a laminate containing the film, a dielectric paste containing the polyester, a dielectric layer containing the polyester and its preparation method. CONSTITUTION: The aromatic liquid crystal polyester comprises 30-80 mol% of a repeating unit derived from 2-hydroxy-6-naphthenic acid, 10-35 mol% of a repeating unit derived from an aromatic diol; and 10-35 mol% of a repeating unit derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid. Preferably the aromatic diol is 4,4'-dihydroxybiphenyl and the aromatic dicarboxylic acid is terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid or 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. The film is obtained by dissolving the polyester in an organic solvent, casting the obtained solution, and removing the organic solvent. The laminate comprises the film and a metal layer.
