PURPOSE: A wireless communication apparatus for selecting multiple bands and a method therefor are provided to compare a received frequency with an assigned frequency band, and to decide whether synchronizations are the same, then to select an operational frequency band, thereby adaptively selecting the operational frequency band for a normal service. CONSTITUTION: A storage(170) stores each frequency band and variable values of the frequency bands, and stores a frequency band used for a normal service and a variable value corresponding to the frequency band. A power unit(150) supplies power for the normal service. A comparator(120) compares whether synchronizations of a received frequency and an interval frequency set in the frequency band are the same. If the synchronizations are the same at least one time, a decider(130) decides whether the synchronized frequency is included in the frequency band. If so, a controller(140) selects the frequency band.
