PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting a moving average path delay offset of a diversity antenna and an operating method thereof are provided to enable a diversity antenna to stably and uniformly receive signals of multiple paths in spite of rapid change in radio environment. CONSTITUTION: It is continuously determined whether a CDMA multi-path or fading radio signal is received(S100). If a radio signal is received, antenna elements 'A' and 'B' despread, accumulate and square receiving signals, and process and output them with power(S110). Position information of a path where maximum power is detected among each path signal is independently detected and outputted(S120). A value obtained by subtracting a position information value of the maximum power independently outputted from a corresponding path of the antenna element 'B' from the maximum power position information value(S130). A current offset correction value is stored in a pertinent memory, and a moving average value is calculated by using the current offset correction value and an offset correction value according to a previous process(S140). A position at which despreading starts is adjusted by feeding back the calculated moving average correction value to the first despreading unit of the first search block(S150).
