APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DUALIZING CROSSBAR SWITCHES

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for dualizing crossbar switches are provided to operate the crossbar switches in a dual active mode by dualizing relay blocks for relaying crossbar switches. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for dualizing a crossbar switch includes a first crossbar switch(130) and a second crossbar switch(140). The first crossbar switch is used for generating a relay result by using state information of input units(100,110) of an input buffer switch. In addition, the first crossbar switch is used for connecting output units(170,180) of the input buffer switch to each port by using selectively the relay results of the first and the second crossbar switches according to an active mode and a standby mode. The second crossbar switch is used for generating the relay result by using the state information of the input units of the input buffer switch and connecting output units of the input buffer switch to each port by using selectively the relay results of the first and the second crossbar switches according to the active mode and the standby mode.
