<p>PURPOSE: Provided is an apparatus and a method of treating wastewater using a biofilter, in which an anoxic bioreactor for denitrifying and an aerobic bioreactor for nitrifying are provided in one reaction tank, thereby reducing time of decomposing pollutant and facilities installment area, and the method provides gravity direction of backwashing, thereby drastically increasing backwashing efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a reaction tank(13) with a wastewater inlet(10), a treated water inlet(11) and a treated water outlet(12); an anoxic filter(14) for denitrifying and an aerobic filter(15) for nitrifying arranged in the reaction tank(13) with a certain distance therebetween; a first chamber(16) and a second chamber(17) provided under the anoxic filter(14) and the aerobic filter(15), respectively, for preparing denitrification and nitrification, respectively; an air supply hole(18) for supplying air to the filters(14,15) through the first and second chambers(16,17); and a drain(19) installed at the bottom of the reaction tank(13) for gravity backwashing.</p> |
