PURPOSE: A radiation shielding structure is provided to reduce cost and time by eliminating the necessity of assembling a radiation shielding unit. CONSTITUTION: A radiation shielding structure comprises at least one sensitive component(10) which is easily breakable when exposed to ionizing radiation; a rigid housing for covering the sensitive component; and a metallic layer(14) formed by being thermally sprayed on at least a part of the rigid housing. The metallic layer is made of a metal having a high atomic number selected from a group consisting of tantalum, tungsten, lead, or a combination thereof. |
