PURPOSE: A safety device for an electric oven range is provided to prevent the door opening when an internal temperature of a cook room is excessively high. CONSTITUTION: A safety device for an electric oven range includes a latch(310) protruded formed at an upper end of a door which opens an oven cavity. The latch is inserted into an insertion hole(210) formed in the center of a front upper end of the oven cavity. A locking element is mounted in the center of a top surface of the oven cavity and has a downwardly folded lever(430) rotatably and axially coupled with a rotation motor(420). A temperature sensor(500) is provided in the oven cavity to measure an internal temperature of the oven cavity. The lever is held by the latch for preventing the opening of the door.
