Composition for dyeing human keratinic fibers comprises a conjugate (I) consisting of two non cationic azo, methine, azomethine, phenothiazine, triarylmethane, xanthene, phenanthridine or phthalocyanine dye molecules linked by a poly cationic nitrogen-containing hydrocarbon group. Composition for dyeing human keratinic fibers comprises a conjugate of formula (I): D-Z-D (I) D = a non cationic azo, methine, azomethine, phenothiazine, triarylmethane, xanthene, phenanthridine or phthalocyanine dye; Z = a 1-10C hydrocarbon group containing at least one N atom and having at least two cationic charges. Independent claims are also included for: (1) direct dyeing of human keratinic fibers by applying at least one composition as above; (2) oxidation dyeing of human keratinic fibers by applying at least one composition as above, which also contains at least one developer and optionally at least one coupler, in the presence of an oxidizing agent; (3) kit comprising a composition as above in one compartment and an oxidizing composition in another compartment.
