PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a capacity increase of a correction table, to reduce the time and effort for forming the correction table, and to lessen density irregularities generated for every head unit. SOLUTION: A recording head part constitutes a line head by connecting a plurality of recording head units each having a nearly equal recording characteristic in the same direction as an arrangement direction of recording elements. A recording head driving part records images to a recording medium by driving a plurality of recording elements of the recording head part according to image data. A correction table part 70 has one or more correction tables recorded therein. Correction characteristics for improving qualities of images to be recorded are recorded in the correction tables. A correction process part 64 carries out an image signal correction process on the basis of the correction table based on position conditions of recording elements to be subjected to the correction process.
