PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent the unauthorized use of a password code in an electronic lock system to improve security. SOLUTION: Digital image data taken by a digital camera 3 are stored as a password code in a nonvolatile memory 16 in a controller 6 of an electronic lock body 1 and also stored in a nonvolatile memory 23 of a unlocking designating device 2. The password code is transmitted from the unlocking designating device 2 to a near distance communication processor 11 of the electronic lock body 1 through a near distance radio communication processor 22. By this way, when a received password code coincides with the password code stored in the nonvolatile memory 16, a door opening signal is outputted from a controller 17 to an autolock mechanism 5 to unlock a lock.
