PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength rope remarkably improving defects such as fibrillation, component interfacial peeling and water absorption in a conventional rope and having excellent operation stability. SOLUTION: This high-strength rope is composed of a sea-island type conjugated fiber comprising an island component composed of a liquid crystal polyester and a sea component composed of a flexible thermoplastic polymer. The high-strength rope is composed by regulating the island component diameter (r) based on the fiber diameter (R) to r/R≤0.3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
