PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly corrosion resistant coated steel sheet having excellent image clarity even in the case of a low cooling rate in a plated steel sheet comprising≥4 mass% Al. SOLUTION: The highly corrosion resistant coated steel sheet having excellent image clarity has: a plating layer consisting of≥4 mass% Al, and comprising an Al based intermetallic compound such as NiAl<SB>3</SB>, TiAl<SB>3</SB>, Ti(Al<SB>1-x</SB>Si<SB>x</SB>)<SB>3</SB>, ZnAl<SB>3</SB>and SrAl<SB>4</SB>in which at least one of lattice constants is 3 to 5Åin or beside the Al phase; a chemical conversion film of a chromate film or a phosphate film as an intermediate layer; and an organic film layer with a thickness of 0.2 to 100μm as the upper layer.
