Fully implantable miniature neurostimulator for spinal nerve root stimulation as a therapy for angina and peripheral vascular disease

Methods for treatment of peripheral vascular disease and angina include implantation of a miniature stimulator adjacent at least one tissue influencing blood circulation. Stimulation sites include the spinal cord dorsal columns and spinal roots. Stimulation parameters are tailored to increase coronary blood flow to treat angina, and/or to increase peripheral blood flow to treat PVD. In addition, the strength and/or duration of electrical stimulation required to produce a desired therapeutic effect may be determined based on a sensed response to and/or need for treatment. Thus, the stimulation parameters may be adjusted based on a sensed condition.
