PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device in which the pressing position of the switch is not fixed, an optimum arrangement can freely be set according to a switch function, and the generation of problems such as deterioration in picture quality, dirt on a screen, and narrowing a display area is prevented. SOLUTION: The switch 12 for operation signal input is arranged in the periphery of a display 11 in a display device 8. This switch 12 is a line-like switch 12 extending along each side of the display 11, and equipped with a processing part judging a pressed position pressed in a position where the length directions are different in the line-like switch 12. A switch function 23 corresponding to each pressing position of the line-like switch 12 is displayed on a screen 11a of the display 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
