The invention concerns an arrangement for mounting a child's seat (12) in a motor vehicle passenger compartment of the type comprising a fixed support structure (18) whereon the seat (12) is mounted such that it occupies a so-called circulating position. The invention is characterized in that it comprises pyrotechnic means (86) which, when the vehicle is subjected to a globally longitudinal front impact directed rearward, at latest during the impact, cause the seat to be tilted about a substantially transverse and horizontal geometrical axis (A1) into a so-called front protecting position.
