The rear view mirror foot (10) has a receptacle (11) for accommodating a sensor (20). At the side of the receptacle are leaf springs (15) which grip onto the sensor retaining devices (30). Inside the receptacle is a spring arrangement (40) formed of a section (41) which acts to force the sensor in the direction of the windscreen whilst a second section (46) encloses sides of the sensor and terminates with apertures into which lugs (25) latch.
