PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater having high safety without dropping a broken piece of glass in a room even when a heater lamp bursts. SOLUTION: This heater comprises a lighting fixture installed on the ceiling or a wall surface of the room to be heated, a bar-shaped heater lamp arranged in this lighting fixture, a gutter-shaped concave mirror arranged so as to surround the heater lamp under this heater lamp and emitting the light upward and a radiating mirror for reflecting and radiating the light from this concave mirror toward a space under the lighting fixture of the room. The concave mirror is composed of an elliptic mirror. The heater lamp is arranged in a first focal position of the elliptic mirror, and the radiating mirror is desirably arranged on the opposite side of the first focal position on a second focal position of the elliptic mirror.
