PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make vacuum chambers compact in a two-rotor-type vertical vacuum packaging machine, which comprises a rotary vertical filling unit processing two bags simultaneously (W type) and a rotary vertical vacuum processing unit, thus make the whole of the packaging machine compact. SOLUTION: The vacuum packaging machine is provided with a bag delivery unit 14, which receives two filled bags simultaneously from two pairs of grippers 53 of the vertical filling unit and delivers them simultaneously to a gripper 12 of the vertical vacuum processing unit. The bag delivery unit 14 has two grippers 34, 35, each of which grips one bag and is arranged across a prescribed distance in the direction of the bag width, where each reciprocates between a receiving position (shown by a virtual line) and a delivery position (shown by a full line) simultaneously while approaches each other when moving from the receiving position to the delivery position. Hence, the distance between two bags is reduced when they are delivered to the gripper 12, thus an increase in size of the vacuum chamber 11 is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
