PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make optionally settable a brake liquid pressure maintained by a wheel brake by closing of a normally opened type solenoid valve by adjustment of a current value energized to the normally opened type solenoid valve, to obtain a brake liquid pressure maintaining apparatus usable for any vehicles having different weights regardless of the kind of vehicle, to reduce the number of parts, the man-hour for processing and fitting and to facilitate the manufacturing. SOLUTION: The brake liquid pressure maintaining apparatus 5 is formed by providing a check valve 23 for permitting a flow of the brake liquid pressure from a master cylinder to the wheel brake 4 at the brake operation and the normally opened type solenoid valve 6 opened at the normal time but closed/operated by electro-magnetic attracting force at maintaining the brake liquid pressure. The normally opened type solenoid valve 6 can set the brake liquid pressure maintained by the wheel brake 4 by making the attracting force to a predetermined value. When the brake liquid pressure of the wheel brake 4 is higher than the predetermined value, A relief function 7 for lowering the brake liquid pressure to the predetermined value by opening the normal opened type solenoid valve 6 is provided.
