PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment system with which the balance of demand and supply with respect to the amounts and qualities of sludge can be adjusted and sludge treatment can be smoothly progressed. SOLUTION: A sludge treatment server 4 is connected by the Internet to final sewage treatment plants 8 to 14 of a plurality of self-governing bodies and to a plurality of private sector sludge treatment contractors 22 to 30 as well. A first information collection signal collects the information on the generated sludge, such as the amounts and characteristics of the sludge generated from the plants 8 to 14 through the Internet and collects the information on the required amount of the sludge and the request for the amounts of the sludge, such as the demand for sludge characteristics supplied from the contractors 22 to 30 through the Internet. An arithmetic section recognizes the supply contents and demand contents of the sludge from the information on the generated sludge and the information on the request for the amount of the sludge and computes the collection amounts and collection courses in such a manner that the generated sludge is optimally treated to balance the demand and the supply. A notification section notifies the computed collection amounts and collection courses to the plants 8 to 14 and the contractors 22 to 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
