PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tobacco stem reaper of compact machine body construction facilitating its quick turning, or the like, enabling efficient work with easily picking up reaped tobacco stems by a relevant worker. SOLUTION: This tobacco stem reaper has a self-propelled machine body 3 traveling astride a ridge and, equipped with a pair of left and right front wheels 1 and 1 and a pair of left and right rear wheels 2 and 2. In this reaper, a conveying device 5 for nippingly conveying tobacco stems T rearward of the machine body and a cutting device 6 for cutting off the foot sides of tobacco stems T are installed between the left and right front wheels 1 and 1 and the left and right rear wheels 2 and 2 when viewed from the top of the machine body in such a manner that the nippingly conveying terminal end 5E of the device 5 is located behind the rear wheel front end. Further, a receiving table 34 is placed under the nippingly conveying terminal end 5E so as to support from below the lower end of tobacco stems T discharged from the device 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
