PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate impact, when it is received from the outside, on a slider on which components to be driven such an optical pickup are provided, and to prevent an excessive load from being applied to gears. SOLUTION: This mechanism comprises a worm gear fitted on the rotating shaft of a motor, a worm wheel meshing with the worm gear, a pinion gear sharing a shaft with the worm wheel and integrally rotating with it, and a slider which is fitted with a rack gear meshing with the pinion gear and slidably moves as the pinion gear rotates. In this slide feeding mechanism, one end of the rotating shaft of the worm wheel and the pinion gear is supported by a shaft supporting member having elasticity that allows the rotating shaft to bend in the same direction as the sliding direction of the slider.
