PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-fuel ratio control device for an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately and quickly correcting the variation of air-fuel ratio among a plurality of cylinders to realize air-fuel control excellent in robustness even if the engine is complicated in exhaust system layout. SOLUTION: The ECU 2 of the air-fuel ratio control device 1 for controlling the air-fuel ratio of a fuel-air mixture supplied to first to fourth cylinders #1 to #4 determines a feedback correction coefficient KSTR (Step 7), calculates variation coefficients AFOFTi each representing the variation of air-fuel ratio among a plurality of cylinders for every cylinder based on the model parameters b0, r1, r2, r3 and s0 of a model, which inputs the KSTR and outputs the detected air-fuel ratio KACT (Step 51), identifies the model parameters (Step 27), corrects a basic fuel injection quantity TIBS so that the variation coefficient AFOFTi for every cylinder converges to a moving average AFOFTAVE (Steps 9 and 10) and calculates the final fuel injection quantity TOUTi for every cylinder (Step 12).
