A connector device includes a housing mounted on a mother board and having a slot for receiving a daughter board. A retainer is used for securing the daughter board to the housing, and includes a base having a channel for receiving the daughter board, and a seat having a bore for slidably receiving a latch. A spring nay bias the latch to engage with the daughter board and to lock the daughter board to the base and the seat of the retainer. The latch includes an end portion having an angled surface for allowing the daughter board to nove the latch against the spring.
