Drive system with internal combustion engine and electric machine has opening in crankcase, and breather opening in gearbox case for venting air

The electric machine (2.1,2.2), e.g. a starter-generator, is arranged between the internal combustion engine (1) and a gearbox (3). A rotor (2.1) of the electric machine is provided with a distributor volume (5) at the driving side, connected to an opening in the crankcase for ventilation. A breather opening (8) is provided in a gearbox case for venting air. The opening (6) in the crankcase and/or the opening (8) in the gearbox case are preferably connected to respective pipes (7,9).
