PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for fabricating a continuous friction material producing almost no scrap in manufacturing a friction clutch plate having a cooling groove pattern of desired depth and clear contour without requiring secondary operation. SOLUTION: There are provided a method and device for fabricating the friction plate having a friction material facing and the friction material itself. The method of forming the friction plate comprises a step of adhering a plurality of segments of the friction material to a core plate. Each segment of the friction material has an adhesive agent material layer adhered to the bottom face of the segment so that an adhesive agent material contacts the preheated core plate.
