<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catch detector for an open/close body surely detecting the catch of a foreign substance without a delay of the timing of detection as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: In the catch detector for the open/close body in which the catch of the foreign substance is detected between a door opening 21 formed to a body for a vehicle and a sliding door 1 opening and closing the door opening 21 in response to the driving of an electric motor 61, the catch detector has brackets 92 and 93 deformed with loads applied to the sliding door 1 when the door 1 is opened and closed, strain gauges 94 and 95 installed to the brackets 92 and 93 and converting distortions corresponding to deformations of the brackets 92 and 93 into electric signals and a door ECU 64 detecting the catch of the foreign substance on the basis of the electric signals from the strain gauges 94 and 95. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
