PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheets carrier which is miniaturized, reduces the cost, and carries bank notes in both directions. SOLUTION: The paper sheets carrier for holding and carrying paper sheets by a carrying belt and a carrying roller comprises a tension roller which is disposed at the position facing the carrying belt and rocked so as to keep the constant tension of the carrying belt, and a guide means which is rocked to the motion of the tension roller to suppress deformation of paper sheets during the carriage. Since the constant tension of the carrying belt is kept, and deformation of paper sheets is suppressed by the guide means, paper sheets can be carried in both directions without skew (meandering) or retention.
